Heidi follows her true passion; designing beautiful spaces. After almost 25 years as a Makeup/Hair artist represented by the Ennis Inc. (for all 25 years) it was time for a new adventure. Heidi's good friend Irene Kerzner, of Hammond Residential, had spoken to Heidi about staging several homes she was representing — “I have marveled as you and your husband have reimagined and renovated several homes, all with an extraordinary sense of balance and detail, color judgment, and talent for realizing exceptional value-based results. Many of your friends can attest to the help of your discerning eye to ease them out of their own décor paralysis. I would love it if you were in the business of staging homes.”
And so it came to pass.
Laura is a tireless perfectionist, a detailed manager, and a brilliant designer. Laura took a giant leap of faith, rolled up her sleeves and joined Heidi in growing this small company. In addition to the intangible benefit of lifelong familiarity, Laura brought with her a diverse background in business, retail, and interior design.
Introduced in Ms. Cherry’s 6th grade classroom, Laura and Heidi each knew they'd found a kindred spirit. Over many years of friendship, they spent countless hours arranging and rearranging their bedrooms, painting walls and furniture, and giving décor advice to anyone who would listen. Enduring friendships can be made of many things, but common passions are certainly a key ingredient.
From her home in North Andover, where she lives with her teenage son and a small pet snake, she puts a ridiculous number of miles on her car in pursuit of unique, vintage treasures.
We do not believe Sue has ever encountered a creative challenge that she could not master. Being a Rhode Island School of Design graduate will do that to a person. That, and a curious mind with a passion for acquiring new skills.
A career graphic designer, she has worked for many firms, including George Tscherny, Inc. and Corey McPherson Nash, and was a partner at Big Blue Dot. Sue enjoys gardening, knitting, woodworking, and fixing broken things. Add piano moving, lamp rewiring, and creating websites and inventory systems to the list and you have a truly multifaceted member of the Silk Purse Design Group team.
Sue shares her home with four handsome and charming guys — her husband, two sons, and Arnold the dog.
